First of all, I am a proud nursing mommy. I have nursed 6 children, one of them until he was 2.5 years old. I have nursed in public many times, however, I am as discrete as possible. I try to expose as little breast (by pulling my shirt up) as possible and then, after my baby has latched on, I drape a blanket over us.
This weekend, our family was at a carnival. As I was enjoying lunch with my boys and some of our friends, I saw a lady walking by. I had to take a double take because she was walking and nursing her baby – all the while her entire breast was exposed. She had on a tank top that had been pulled down and you could see everything but her nipple. There were well over a 1000 people walking around. She sat down next to us. Peering over, I saw her baby latch on to her other breast and caught a glimpse of the entire thing, nipples & all.
A part of me wants to give her a pat on the back. The other part of me wants to say, “please be more discrete”.
